Join the Core Developer Team

We're looking for experienced, motivated developers to help shape the foundation of ZebraStream (the protocol and open source project) and ZebraStream.io (the managed service) — both technically and culturally.

What We're Looking For

Technical Skills

Proficient in Rust (async: Tokio, hyper) or Python (uv/poetry, asyncio, http)
Familiar with git and reproducible development environments
Bonus: experience with data pipelines, CI/CD, Linux containers, or cloud infrastructure

Mindset & Qualities

Comfortable with uncertainty and able to make structured progress
Value simplicity (KISS), curiosity, and bring your own ideas
Enjoy test-driven development and code review
Collaborative, reliable, and clear in communication

Location & Language

Preferably based in Germany (Düsseldorf area a plus), remote-native
Fluent in English (for communication and documentation)

Compensation

At this stage, there is no fixed salary. Instead, you'll have the opportunity for meaningful startup-like participation and future success sharing.
